Lightening Flashed across the freezing sky, brightening the dark room for only a moment before returning to its pitch-black impenetrable atmosphere. The sudden thunderous echo jolted Asher awake as he lay rooted to the spot, trying to stretch his eyes as wide as possible but he could barely make out a feeble outline of some distant broken object.

There was nothing warm about this place, it was as cold and dead as his emotions, his heart, body, and soul which were broken. Cold and clammy he tried to lift himself but it was futile, although the potion had worn off, the pain from the iron rod sticking through his thighs hindered his movement.

The darkness and quiet pressed into his ears and he drew out a chilling scream that seemed to warm his lungs with an inhuman warmth in the overwhelming darkness as he slowly pulled the rod from his Legs. Finally pulling it out he healed his legs with magic and got up on his feet.
