Eva's POV

I don't know why I am doing this knowing very well that my recklessness will drive Brendon crazy. Still I can't stop my footsteps from tracing down Brendon's steps. I tiptoed all the way to the ground floor where there was pitch black dark.

Everyone at this hour of night was fast asleep. The only thing I benefited from living in the dungeon was that I can find my ways in darkness.

I followed Brendon's shadow and arrived at the backyard of the mansion. For a second the shadow of Brendon paused and looked back. I abruptly got down behind the bushes as my heart pounded hard in terror.

He probably noticed me trailing him behind and as a warning he looked back. My mind was continuously telling me to return back and pretend this never happened.

But my heart, my consciousness was repeating to follow Brendon and witness the confession of my offender. I can never forget Paul, he was one of those three managers of the dungeon who used to beat and feed me drugs.
