What No Witch Can Do

“I don’t… I don’t think it’s going to work.” Laylin gazed down at the shimmering water of the spring and shook her head.

It was just so absurd. She had hardly absorbed aura once when they were escaping the Palace that night but it was only to save herself from breaking her neck while crossing the wall or she wouldn’t ever take such a risk.

Besides, it had taken all her energy to collect enough aura to jump the wall. She was lucky she didn’t twist up her internal organs.

Though she wasn’t that knowledgeable about witches and their precious magic, she knew a thing for sure: no witch can absorb aura simultaneously from nature or at will, without injuring her internal organs.

But that too if a witch did it for consecutively five minutes, she might even drop dead.

Esmer, though, was determined and kept a straight face, “Absorb aura from the water, keep your hands in front of you, and will it to come to you.”

She said as if it was a natural phenomenon, not something unheard of.
