Chapter 108

Amelia cleared her throat. She had been sitting in a car for hours, on her way, headed back to her pack. She was to be received by Alpha David. He was aware of what was happening.

"How far is it from here?" She looked at the driver. Their eyes met when he looked up at the mirror over his head. He had black eyes. Scary but amusing.

"It shouldn't take too long, Luna". He looked back at the road and then at the map his phone had stationed for him. "Once we get over this bridge, I'm sure we'll be halfway across".

Amelia sighed. Halfway to hell was what he should have said. She was tired already.

Meeting Maxwell after what she had done to him and his father, she presumed, would be her worst nightmare yet.

Over the bridge and another one, Amelia watched the trees pass her by. Quietly, she sat, pitying herself. No mate, no baby, and certainly no happiness.
