48. Feeling In My Gut

AMANISA’S POV

My inside was quivering. My breaths were deep… Too deep for comfort and my senses were heightened too.

And there was this unexplainable void I felt upon opening my eyes but it grew stronger right after Kovan detached himself from me without listening to my plea. My plea to return to where his life and mine have been endangered.

His eyes were soulless when he stared at me, creating self-pity within me. He wasn't looking at me with those affections that I had gotten used to… He came off like a stranger and that hurt like hell.

I wouldn't have admitted that if the hurt wasn't unbearable. Although I felt revived and stronger than I have ever been for the past few days, I still didn't like how I was feeling and I believed that it was because I had left my dress in the NightShade pack:

The moon dress completed me like it was made by the moon goddess herself and I wanted it back.

“Mom.”

Kovan whispered back to the woman I saved and he hugged her gently to my displeasure.
