Silvan’s POV

I could see Esme's hesitation to leave but we needed to go after all. It was already past two hours and the morning court needed to be held, hence the necessity of leaving.

I hugged her from behind while kissing her nape lovingly as she washed the dishes in the kitchen sink.

"I promise, we will be back" I promised her. Esme nodded in understanding and I left her to gather our items so that we could leave.

After some minutes, we left the penthouse. the excitement she felt while coming was very different from now, she just kept looking out the window as we made our trip back to the empire.

"Can I come along?" She requested politely as we came down from the car.

"No princess, I can handle it" I returned and kissed her forehead before hurrying out and into the meeting hall still in the outfit I wore.

"Alpha" they greeted in unison.

"What's going on?" I asked almost impatiently, settling on my seat. The members of the council exchanged glances and I sighed heavily.

"I apologi
