70. Overdressed?

Esme’s POV

Silvan’s gaze flickered and he glanced away, not willing to meet my eyes. However, that only made me more curious.

Was this something that had happened before?

“Gather the other team members, we would meet in the cafeteria,” I instructed and then shut the door as soon as the both of them left.

I strained my ears, confirming that the both of them had gone before I turned to face Silvan, “What’s going?”

“And, don’t even think about lying to me,” I threatened and Silvan’s face spread into a sly grin.

He laced his fingers with mine and led me back into the room.

“About three years ago, there was some influx of attacks like this in this city. The government kept eyes on the woods and started trying to track everyone more carefully since they couldn’t explain the attack.”

My brows tightened at his revelation, “same as this kind of attack?”

Silvan nodded with a grimace.

“Exactly like this, indoors and in places where wolves shouldn’t be found at all,”
