As Kain's people pulled us away on the second carriage, I watched Bennett and Brian screaming and being held back by the guards. Olivia struggled too, kicking, scratching, and yelling. I watched her and I wept even more. We'd thought we'd found peace and rest. We thought we'd be safer. For the past few hours, we thought we had found it. My heart sank into that gloom again.

"Take care of them," I yelled to Lucy and realized that she was crying. She was pulling Bennett and Brian to herself.

"Be careful, Elora! Be careful!" She yelled back as she held unto Bennett and Brian.

"I'll come for you!" Bennett yelled amidst years in his eyes. The sight of them broke my heart afresh.

Olivia shouted until her voice went hoarse. I pulled her to myself and held her close. And she sobbed even more as she buried her head in my bosom. She shook uncontrollably. Her breath broke as she shuddered.

"What…did… we… do to deserve this, Ellie?" She heaved. "What!?"

"Nothing, Liv. Absolutely nothing."
