Pacing the hall in front of my father's office I try to decide if I am ready for the truth. For the past few weeks the only two things that have been on my mind is Keena and finding out the truth of what my father has done.

Unexpectedly, the door to my father's office swings open and an older woman in a blue cloak waltzes out. She looks me over with a smirk on her face. "It is always nice when magic works out like it should," she laughs before she walks past me and down the hall.

I can see my father standing in his office with a concerned look on his face. When he notices that I am standing in his doorway he gestures for me to enter.

Sitting down on the chair across from my father, I let out a heavy sigh. My body is sore and I know it is because I am feeling Keena's pain through the mate bond. I will have to convince my father to let someone heal her because the dull ache in my body is becoming too much to bear.
