Chapter 33

Aurelia's POV

My cheeks heated and I bit the inside of my cheeks.

"Are you hurt anywhere?" The King asked me as he looked at me intently.

I shook my head, "No, your Highness. I'm perfectly fine. Thank you. How about you?"

He shook his head while keeping his gaze on me. "Why would you jump out of a window? Do you know how high that is?" He frowned.

"Well uhm," I didn't know how to say it without making Andre look like the bad guy. I had tried to pull my hand from him but he only tightened his grip so it was impossible to stop. "He was trying to save me," I said instead. "He thought I was in danger."

The King's eyes darkened and he corrected, "You were in danger."

I didn't believe that and he saw it in my face because he arched his brow and lifted his head as if he knew what I was thinking.

We heard footsteps rush to us and I looked around and saw the guards suddenly surround us. They fell on one knee as they greeted and one of them hurried towards us with a robe.

I threw my face away.
