SCARLET’S POV

What I feared most was what he had just said. He looked so serious about it, and it looked like he was never going to change his mind. But then, I still had to try. After all, the only person who could get to him better than the others was none other than me.

“Elias…”

“And until I do what I have in mind to do, you won’t be stepping out of this palace.” Elias said, with seriousness.

“Elias. Please don’t do this.” Ralph spoke, pleading on my behalf.

“Ralph, I don’t want you to support her on this one. We can’t deal with this emotionally. It has to be a decision, made rationally.

“Elias, you can’t do this to me. You can’t…”

“Guards!” Elias called out, interrupting me.

At this point, it seemed as if he was a different man. I understood how he was trying to protect me, but this was getting too much. How would he shut down the emotional part of him and leave Ashley to die, just like that?

I took a few steps backwards as I could already understand what he was trying to do
