Eira Haris led us to a secluded corner of the Palace teeming with overgrown trees and bushes.

“For privacy.” She explained, when I narrowed my eyes on her. I shrugged nonchalantly, but my guard was up. Not one of the people in this clan could be trusted.

“Alright, shoot. What do you want to say to me?” I asked with impatience.

“That…” Her gaze went to Sofia.

I shook my head and said, “Whatever you want to say, say it in front of her. She’s not leaving.”

Eira Haris’s expression turned awkward. She hesitated for a few seconds, but when she saw the firm look in my eyes, she sighed in resignation.

“I heard you quit the Warrior Squad?” She began.

I raised a brow, but didn’t answer her question. My silence was answer enough.

“Look, Saira. I know you’re mad at Einas. From his behavior in the past few days, I can tell there’s more to the story than what he claims.”

Ah…she found out her son’s lie. So, did she want to apologize now? I thought that would be ridiculous, as one, she wasn’t
