I could smell her arousal because it was a lot more enticing when one approached the end of the heat period. Her pupils were dilated and I could take her where she lay without any objections from her. Nobody ever said no to their mate especially a wolf who was in the kind of state she was. I pulled her into my arms and she followed, forgetting how much she probably hated me. Her emotions were in control and she almost tackled me to the floor in a frenzy.

“Easy, mate,” I soothed her gently, patting her soft hair. “You are my business and I am here to set you free. However, the final decision lies with my father.”

Her heavy breathing diminished to a soft hum as she sat close to me. I couldn't resist wrapping my arms around her curves, a possessive move, of course but a subconscious move that I had done without even thinking about it.
