Miatta POV

When sundown came, I was still skittish, watching for anyone and anything that could harm Lucas. I could have confided in Ryker so that I could have some reinforcement but I didn't trust him yet. It was up to me to be on guard. I returned to the room to have a meal with him and this time, he was not pushy. He acted like everything was fine and I tried to act likewise. He left a big portion of the meal for me and withdrew to clean himself up. My heat period was coming to an end that day and I was glad to have the pesky thing over with.
