Two days passed without word from Q, and my patience was beginning to run thin. I was ready to go home and couldn’t stop worrying about my siblings. I also missed Andrew, and that really confused me since I was in constant quarters with Ashton.
After our night together, I tried to avoid him like the plague, but he wasn’t making it easy. It was almost as if he was purposely trying to push me in an attempt to see just how much I could actually handle.
"Thia," Asher called through my bedroom door on the morning of the third day. "Can you come out here?"
He sounded hesitant as he spoke, which piqued my interest right away.
"Have you decided?" Asher pushed, drawing Q’s attention back to us."It would be too much work for me to draw from all three of you." Q said slowly.A low growl erupted from Ashton as his body tensed and his eyes narrowed. Reaching out, I placed a hand on his thigh and squeezed, trying to remind him to stay calm."Do you really expect one of us to give you 20 years of our lives?" Ashton demanded, ignoring my attempt to sooth him. "You’re full of shit.""Ashton." I hissed. The atmosphere around the room was beginning to grow tense.
Warmth encompassed me, making me feel safe in the darkness that was slowly beginning to fade away."...how much longer…""...Don’t know…"The voices were close, yet sounded far away. What were they talking about? What exactly was going on?Letting out a huff, I began trying to pry my eyes open, but my lids felt like they weighed a ton. My body, which I was beginning to feel again, also felt extremely heavy."What the hell did you do to her?"
We arrived at the inn in record time and, despite being back, Ashton still didn’t release his hold on me. Instead, he sat on the couch and held me close. As much as I wanted to ask him what in the world was going through his head, I couldn’t find the courage to do so. What would I do if he suddenly decided that he was going to change his opinion of me? What if he simply said he was worried about me after what I had been through? Neither reply would be ideal and both would leave me confused."You’re pretty quiet." Ashton pointed out, drawing me from my thoughts. "If there’s something on your mind you should say it.""I’m sure that you know what I’m wonderin
"Yes ma am." Ashton smirked, getting off the bed.A gasp escaped me as he grabbed my ass and lifted me, throwing me on the bed with such force it knocked the wind from me."Remember you asked for this."I didn’t have time to process what was going on as Ashton knelt down and dove between my folds with his fingers and tongue. While his tongue worked my clit, his fingers moved in and out of me."Oh… fuck…" I moaned, arching my back. "Ashton... just like that."At my words, Ashton quickened his pace and slowed down, alternati
Ashton and I had managed to untangle ourselves and get dressed by the time Asher stumbled in. He looked as though he was near death as he plopped down in the recliner and closed his eyes."Is the portal ready?" Ashton asked, ignoring the fact that Asher probably just wanted to be left alone for a few minutes."Yeah." Asher replied with a yawn. "It is located in the back alley of Goblinaspur.""Aren’t you worried that someone else is going to find it?" Ashton asked. "It is just there for anyone and everyone to see.""They won’t be able to." Asher affirmed. "I put a barrier around it and
I woke up extra early the next morning to fix breakfast for Leah and the twins. I owed them this much after everything they had managed to take care of while I was away.Luckily, all the kids were still sleeping when I headed downstairs, allowing me to make my treat a surprise. Later, I needed to go to pack headquarters to discuss our findings, so this was also a kind of apology for that.Moving forward, I opened the blinds on the large bay window in the kitchen, allowing the sun to shine in and illuminate the area. After spending a few days in a place that wasn’t very bright and cheery, this was a welcome sight.I didn’t know why, but I was feeling extremely at pe
I sat silently at the table, watching as my siblings and Andrew ate their breakfast. They seemed to be grudgingly getting along with him, but it wasn’t anything like their reaction to Ashton.Sighing, I sipped my coffee, drawing four sets of eyes towards me. Feeling self-conscious, I blushed while sitting down my cup."What?" I asked, eyeing everyone. "Something on my face?""You seem a bit out of it." Leah said hesitantly. "Are you still tired from your trip?"Tired from my trip… if only Leah understood, but as a normal teen she wouldn’t.
I walked slowly down the driveway of the packhouse. My mind was a mess and I needed to get it clear before I faced the issues at hand. Despite my attempts to tell myself that I couldn’t let Ashton sway me, I knew that he was and would continue to do so."Thia."Tensing, I cursed under my breath. Think of the devil and that bastard would appear.Turning slowly, I tried to place a blank mask on my face to avoid giving away how I truly felt."How long have you been following me?" I asked, crossing my arms. "You should have spoken up sooner."
