Sudden Appearance

I continued to stare out into the dark street, waiting. Within a few minutes, a figure began to make its way towards me.

"Who is that?" Ashton asked, coming up beside me. "It doesn’t smell like anyone we know."

Didn’t smell like someone we knew? Did that mean that it was someone trying to sneak up on my home?

Not thinking, I found myself leaping over the banister of my porch and landing on the grass beyond. Surging forward, I prepared to tackle whoever it was until two bright caramel eyes met me.

"Andrew?" I gasped, stopping in my tracks. "Why are you here?"
