Fifty-Four

I walk up to the railing, lean on the surface and look down at the beasts, all training. I start to wonder when I will be able to get back into training. I am startled when there is a soft knock on the door behind me. I turn, straighten and then smile.

"Morning Rania!"

"Morning yourself. How are you feeling?"

"Not bad, considering. Is Zachariah with Malik?"

"Yes, they have a few things to discuss... Especially after what happened to you..."

I look at her in shock and ask, "Happened to me? Zachariah isn't in trouble because of me, is he?"

"Oh, no, no, no... After Brett removed you from the courtyard, Zachariah fought and killed Thomas..."

I put one of my hands to my mouth and the other around my waist as my stomach rolls a little. I whisper,

"He killed him??"

"Yes, and I would do it again. I told you no one would ever touch you as I do and if they did, I would kill them!"
