Thirty-Nine

Everything and everyone had fallen silent and stopped as soon as I had yelled and slapped Zachariah's face. I look up and see that Zachariah had released the King's wrist and was standing with his arms crossed over his chest and a small smile on his lips. The King looks at me, then at Zachariah. He says something I don't hear. Zachariah turns and smiles at him and utters something in return. They shake hands and then they make their way over to me.

I put my hands on my hips as Zachariah stops in front of me and holds out his hand; I take a quick look around and notice that more of those big beasts have entered the room and there is no way I can defeat all of them on my own, so I slowly put my now shaking hand into his. He pulls me slightly towards him, bringing me into his arms. I don't like it, but my body does what it and I have always done and melt just that little bit into him.
