Chapter 4

"Lilly! Wake up!" Debby called her, trying to wake her best friend with a whisper tone, hoping that Lilly could hear her. She didn’t want to cause any trouble for the both of them by talking out loud and gaining unwanted attention from those monsters.

All the girls in the cage slept while still standing on their feet. Some of them had already woken up because it was impossible to sleep soundly in such a miserable condition.

Lilly didn’t react to Debby’s call, even her head still hanging low and Debby felt even worried because from aside, Lilly seemed so weak and pale. She couldn’t reach her, since they were squeezed in a cage like some animals. But sometimes it was also a relief because they could lean against each other for warmth.

"Lilly!"

Debby raised her voice but she still didn't get any response. She tried to move her hand to reach Lilly, asked the other girls who were huddled together to move aside a little bit, and gave her tiny access to Lilly.

Debby managed to touch her and tug her sleeve to wake her up. Finally, Lilly felt something tugging at her clothes, she forced her eyes to open up.

Actually, she didn't sleep that well. However, her body felt extremely in pain and tired. So, she closed her eyes and hopefully the pain will end soon. As if, she had started to give up on the current situation.

She turned towards where someone seemed to be calling her. Lilly squinted her eyes slightly. She could see Debby's worried face among the other girls, not to far from her.

"Thank God.... You are... You are alive." Debby sobbed softly.

Not without reason. She had been watching Lilly from a few minutes ago. She closed her eyes as if she were fast asleep. Until the cloud began to show its bright light of sunrise, Lilly didn’t show any movement or at least gave Debby the sign that she was still breathing.

What worried her was the sound of other girls crying quietly, telling the others in a whisper that one of their friends was dead. They had no choice but to still stand on their feet and the poor girl was no longer breathing.

Debby stared at Lilly with teary eyes. This has become something common for them. Several girls would have died on a journey like this, from exhaustion, hunger, and cold.

She didn't want to lose her best friend.

Lilly stared at Debby's worried face and was about to say something when a resounding sound startled them all.

"We have arrived at the border of the Blue Moon pack! Prepare yourself to meet your new master!!"It was the sound of one of the werewolves guarding their cage.

Instantly Lilly tensed up. They are actually sold to the Blue Moon pack.

This isn't the werewolf pack like where they were before.

This is a pack of Lycans! Alpha Ken himself had repeatedly threatened her, that he would sell her to become a slave to the vicious Lycans. Now it happens.

She began to feel her heart pounding fast. According to the stories Lilly had heard, Lycans are cruel and terrible creatures. They are even more ferocious and wild than werewolves. She heard how terrifying Lycans are. They live far away from where they were before and are very rarely seen. Lilly thought it was because they just wanted to live together with only the Lycans. Because even though Lilly had seen and felt how cruelly lowly people like them were treated by other mythical creatures. But Lycans, she never even once saw them in a crowd of people torturing slaves like her.

Alpha Ken always threatened Lilly when he abused her. If he ever gets tired of her, he'll sell Lilly for the most notorious pack of Lycans. There Lilly will meet with Lycans who will torture her. And Lilly would remember that Alpha Ken was the best and kind master of all.

When she remembered that monster, vicious Alpha Ken, she immediately trembled with fear. The trauma she had received over the years from that evil werewolf left her with deep trauma and pain.

Alpha Ken said he was her hero. The one that could make her life better.

But he was the one who put the bruises and cuts in her body. The one who treated her only for his sex toy.

That man is a demon who had taken the lives of his parents and friends.

Lilly didn't know why she was still trying to live up to this point. It was obvious that in this life, Lilly wasn't a lucky girl. She is a poor girl who has always lived a life full of misery.

Maybe when she remembered how her parents fought to protect her, to keep her alive, she didn’t want their effort to go waste. Lilly still wanted to have that tiny hope in life. To continue her parents’ wish in this world. Far away from gold and treasure, she just want a peaceful and normal life. She could do anything without fear of getting beaten. She could eat fresh food without fear of getting whip. She could walk without a single pain of her body.

But now, she, along with dozens of other girls, was being sold to become slaves to the Lycans.

Lilly smiled bitterly. Maybe this is the end of her life.

Lilly looked up to see the sky was already bright. Maybe it's almost noon. She swallowed hard because she was thirsty and immediately winced because her dry throat hurt.

She hoped that Blue Moon would have a quiet river or small pond where she could drink some fresh water.

They went deeper into the forest and off the path into a forest. Lilly looked around and now she felt the cool breeze touch her skin. This forest is filled with lush, big, and tall trees. Sunlight could not enter the thick leaves above. Something about this forest told her that this place was so ancient. So old.

"This forest is so scary..."

Lilly could hear the low whispers of some of the other girls nearby.

Not without reason. This forest felt very intimidating. At first, Lilly felt the same way.

But somehow, now, there was something else she felt that Lilly had never felt before.

She didn't know what it was exactly. It felt like a safe and comfortable place.

Lilly almost laughed ironically at her thought.

Safe? Comfortable? Since when did she dare to let out that word even in her mind? She didn’t even remember the last time she felt safe or comfortable. All she knew was to endure.

But those were exactly how she felt right now. The farther they went into the forest, the feeling of dread and intimidation faded. There was only a sensation of calm. For a very long time now, Lilly had a little hope that everything would be fine.

If not. Then, she will take the least choice she should have made a long time ago. Goes after her parents into the afterlife.
