Sylvester looked at me incredulously as I told him about my suspicions. A part of me felt like he wasn't buying anything that I wanted to say. I could see the disbelief flash through his eyes and I ignored the way my heart plummeted in my chest as I looked at him.

I don't know why him believing me held so much importance but it did. I wanted him to believe me. I wanted him to know that I had nothing but his best interest at heart. Maybe a part of me was so bent on proving a point to him that it was beginning to mess with me.

"I think everyone in the pack is loyal to me. I don't think they'll be so bold to make a move against their alpha" he said, his brows furrowing into a frown as he looked at me.

I could see the conflict etched on his face as he looked lost in thought. Maybe he was trying to decipher between believing me or not but I knew that the only way that he could be safe if he took my word for it.
