Escape Gone Wrong

A huge dark figure approaches the door of a container on a truck, taking each step delicately as he reaches for the light. He jumps down the truck, this is Sophia's dad. A man in a white garment comes out of the container truck and stands by him.

In a second a group of SUVs surround them. Men in suit drop from all the cars and stand at ease by them, each with one hand stuck in their jackets no doubt soothing the trigger of a weapon.

A guard opens the door of the middle one and Nimrod drops from it. "Agatha was right," he walks towards the man. "Sophia can never tell the difference."

"Yes sir," the scientists confirms. "We have laboriously examined the physiognomy of the subject and has carefully crafted a like being through a method called plastic surgery. We believe this is Sophia's exact aesthetic of her father."

Nimrod pulls a gun at him, "Next time, you'd be explaining all this to the devil himself." He walks closer to the man. "What did you buy Sophia on her 13th birthday?"

The man smirks, "Parrots."

"Good," Nimrod walks back to his car. "Find Sophia and... You know your job." He gets in the car and bangs it.

...

Sophia tucks her lip tightly, merely hoping that none of the girls in the bus recognize or rats her out.

"Did you hear the man?" The brother of the man queries. He's slim while his brother is the muscular one. "Which one of you is Sophia?"

"I have an idea," one of the men who was wearing all black stands up and whispers to the muscular brother.

He smiles and nods his head in contention, "I like you."

Just then he pulls one of the girls by the hair and opens the door of the bus, letting the pressure of the wind beat her face. The girl kneels at the door being tortured by the continuous pain inflicted by pulling her hair, and the force of the wind biting her eyes like tiny ants.

"Who's Sophia?" He queries them again. "Did I mention I'd only ask once?" He throws her out the moving vehicle.

"That'd work," the slim brother compliments with a big smile.

"Hehehehehehe," the muscular brother laughs as he grabs another girl by the hair and pulls her to the door. "Who is Sophia?" He draws every syllable.

Sophia was in for it, of course no one in the bus recognized her but this is beginning to turn to a test of her good conscience. Innocent people are getting hurt because of her and she was right there and for the first time, has the power to actually stop it.

Sophia opens her mouth, "I..." Suddenly she loses interest as a thought flew into her head. What exactly would stop this bounty hunters from throwing the girls out the bus even if she tells the truth?

Plus, throwing her out of a moving bus is a less painful experience compared to where they'd be taking her to if they knew who she truly was.

"Amigo," the man on the other side of the front seat yells out. "There's a girl on the street."

The muscular brother pulls in the lady and shuts the door. "Let's act like passengers."

"No need. She'd ask for help either ways," the dude in a all black outfit schools them.

"Help! Help!" Sophia could hear someone yelling at the bus.

"Hey young lady, where are you headed?" The guy at the front seat questions her.

"Just get me out of this place, please," the lady begs in desperation.

The muscular brother opens the door, "We're headed for the city."

Something looks suspicious, the lady was not buying the idea of them being nice people. She pauses, still trying to comprehend the bad aura of the scene.

In haste the muscular guy drops from the bus and holds her from behind, instantly pushing her in. He gets in and shuts the door behind her.

Sophia watches the lady fall by her feet. As she raises her head a little voice in Sophia's head whispers 'oh no.' This girl was Jenny's friend. The one who was gossiping with her.

"Gwen," Sophia's lips let's go in vibration. Her whole body starts shivering quietly as Gwen takes a sit by her after making eye contact.

"Now," the muscular guy looks over them. "Who's..."

Sophia struggles to contain her shivering and rapid sweating as the words leave the man's mouth one by one. It's almost like she's holding a terrible poop.

"Sophia?" The last words leaves his mouth.

In the very same second Gwen turns to Sophia with eyebrows up, she's not yet understanding what was happening. She then turns to the man again.

He opens the door. "It's your turn," he grabs her by the hair and pulls her closer to the door. "One last time, who's Sophia."

As the pressure of the wind smashes her face, Gwen opens her mouth with her fingers rising up simultaneously. She points to Sophia, "She's the one."

In the very same instant, the dude in the all black outfit grabs Sophia unexpectedly and jumps out the bus like he was side-diving into a pool. In the process, ramming both the muscular guy and Jenny's friend to the ground where they are crushed by the convertible car Sophia and the man landed on.

He quickly balances himself on the driver's seat and turns the car around, driving directly away from their direction. Left with no choice at the time, Sophia takes the seat beside him, with her prime concern at the moment being the minibus that has now turned around to chase them after throwing all the other girls out.

From the side mirror the man sights the back door of the minibus opening, slowly unveiling a man with a minigun. The guy quickly hits a button on his car, making the roof come up.

Like the scorching sparkles a welding machine makes when heating metals, the machine gun discharges bullets at them furiously and unremittingly.

Fortunately for Sophia, the bullets just bounce up and down on the window of the car. It's bulletproof.

"Who're you?" Sophia questions with a loud tone.

"They call me The Hunter," he replies.

The Hunter? Thoughts run wide in Sophia's head. This was the same man who suggested throwing the girls out of a moving bus until they find her. What if this is a betrayal and he's only trying to take the bounty for himself rather than saving her.

She gasps on her seat with her thoughts still running wide on what to do? She's caught in between two enemies who're both her enemies and of course, in a endless forest, a void of trees.

Maybe she still has a chance, Sophia immediately grabs the steering wheel, trying to push The Hunter away with her body.

"What're you doing?" He struggles with her.

"Get your hands off me," Sophia yells at him while obviously being the one holding him. "I only want your car!"

"Why?" The Hunter questions with a rough voice. "I'm trying to help you."

Sophia goes back to her seat in a mixed feeling, though tiredness is the sole purpose of her giving up. "Then let me steal your car. Can't you afford another one?"

He ignores her.

From out of the blue she attacks him again, pounding his strong hands and trying to make them loosen their grip of the steering wheel as she yells along: "Ahh, ahhh, ahhh." Like a sneak attack in cartoons.

"Stop it!" She smashes her to her chair with his elbow, making her pass out. Without remorse, he turns to look at her, and then continues driving.

From the minibus the slim brother carries a rocket launcher on his shoulders. He aims for the car, squinting his eyes to gain precision.

After few seconds Sophia opens her eyes again, the blurriness clears off eventually and just then she sights an interesting button on the car and rushes for it. The door at the driver's seat opens to The Hunter's surprise, and before he could fully grasp the situation, Sophia bounces her body on him, thrusting him out of the car.

She wears a big smile and at the same time the seatbelt. For a minute there she thought she finally has the fullness of the free world in her hands. No one was holding her captive, after all this years she's finally granted the right to navigate at her will.

But unfortunately, this wasn't the happy ever after moment she was expecting. The slim brother pulls the trigger on the rocker launcher, making the rocket run under Sophia's new car. It throws her in the forest, with the car turned over.

The Hunter widens his eyes at the event. The minibus was fast approaching, it was either save Sophia or save himself. The Hunter runs into the forest abandoning Sophia.

Meanwhile Sophia was fast asleep in the stumbled car. Meanwhile, fuel was slowly dripping drop-by-drop from the car.
