CHAPTER 40

The sky had gone dark. I couldn't persuade myself to move or to go in. His strange, mysterious talking was confusing and dreading me the most. He lost his memory and forgot everything about me. A shudder worked down my spine. Meri thought frightened me.

I could never imagine myself forgetting him. Was he trying to tell me something? Was he planning something? He never told me anything. He attended his meeting in another language. So I couldn't get a word. It was clearly showing, it was related to me.

I rubbed my palm on my arms, hugging myself. I felt goosebumps. My heart hammered in my chest.

"You shouldn't be out," I felt something warm over my shoulders.

Lifting my chin, I looked up at Tom. He smiled down at me. "Why is Mini not here?" I asked.

He breathed out with a frown. He walked around the bencher and sat next to me. "Dad said, her mother can take care of her better than us."
