Chapter 55

A small smile crept onto my face permanently during my stay at the park. Though, I wasn't doing much but staring at all happy faces, squealing kids happily.

Ben cleared his throat. I peered up at him and rolled my eyes. ''I'm not alone, you know." I darted my eyes out over the familiar faces, mingled in the crowd, pretending to be the usual people, visiting the park.

"Yes, ma'am. But it's too late. You must be tired and hungry." Assassin said, his eyes were in the distance.

I giggled. He acted like a caring nanny. The dim amber was gone in the sky. The dark was replacing it. I got on my feet still smiling as I paced toward the car.

Two kids swooped ahead of me, almost startling me. Fear raced through me as I stumbled. A shriek left my throat. I extended my hands as I was going to hit the ground.
