Desmond's POV

While going through the files Mabel had sent to me, an incoming call from the Chief spoilt my mood. I was thinking of declining or maybe I should ignore it, but at a second thought I received it.

"Hello Sir, good day sir" I knew what the Chief was going to do, ignoring my greetings. Hehehe, I don't mind if he doesn't reply to them because my greetings aren't sincere, I only forced myself to greet him because he was my senior in the office.

Shockingly, he replied to my greetings.

"Good day you too" he replied, I was shocked and at a loss for words because the Chief had responded to my greetings. Or could it be that…I'm not ready for a mission right now if that is the reason why he had called and even responded to my greetings.

"Thank you Sir" I murmured. "May I ask the reason why the chief had called?" I heard him clear his throat and oh God! It was annoying to listen to it.

"Robbers just attacked a commercial bank and I need you to go there with your men," he said.

"But
