When we arrived at Marco's place, Sofia and I were escorted into a guest room.

When we were left behind by his maid, I groaned and threw myself on the bed.

"Maybe you needed a new scenery, Gia," she commented, putting her briefcase inside the closet.

For a moment, I wondered what was inside, but that thought was quickly clouded by worry about what was going on with Mario that he needed to bring me to his friend's house.

"Do you know what's going on with Mario?" I asked, sitting up on the bed.

"What I know is that Mario could be dealing with something. He just doesn't want you to be there through that," she speculated.

And I wondered what it was that he might have been going through that he needed me out of the house.

He was supposed to at least tell me what was going on. I deserved to know instead of just moving me without explanation.

I expected that he would have a word with me before he left, but he said nothing.
