"So what did he say?" Connor asked over breakfast three hours later.

They were at the large dining table, just him and her alone. Martha and the others had decided to have breakfast outside in the open air. As they ate, Annah fed their child and as she stared at her bundle of joy, she realized that her son was growing bigger by the day. This was everything she had ever dreamed of and imagined and now, it was all coming to pass and she could hardly contain her joy.

"Look, he's staring at you." Annah smiled.

He had removed his mouth from the bottle of feeder she had been feeding him with to stare at Connor as he spoke. He smiled, kicking his little feet as Connor made funny faces at him. Annah laughed as the baby continued to kick his feet, still staring at Connor.

"Hey little man, you want me to carry you?" Connor grinned.

As if in response to what he said, the baby made small noises. Annah chuckled, knowing that this was a sign for her to hand him over to his father.
