"Any sign of her yet?" Russo asked as soon as Connor stepped into the living room.

It's been two days since Annah went missing and everything, every method they had used in trying to find her had proved abortive. It was a mystery because Connor's men had never failed before and seeing them do this now proved that Annah didn't want to be seen. His men were thorough, they had contacts all over the place and Russo knew that finding Annah wasn't supposed to be difficult but here they were, nothing to show for it.

"No," Connor simply said.

He had been a skeleton of himself for so many days now, thinking about everything that had happened and then falling into a depressive state. Russo didn't know what to tell him anymore because assurances weren't going to help matters at all. It was only when he saw Annah that he would truly be alright.
