Jess was staring at me like she hadn’t seen me before, prompting me to repeat my earlier question. “Why are you not saying anything? Cat got your tongue? You think you could hide it forever? That you are a slut..puhleese..” I said, cackling with a sadistic laughter.

“I don’t know anything of what you are talking about, Storm. Jack And I are not dating. Your father died of a heart attack. What happened here was a mistake, a drunk act.” she replied, refusing to balk under the pressure I was applying on her. Well, she was a good liar. I thought, shifting my gaze to Kaden who was just looking at us like he was watching a soap opera, though his eyes softened when he saw me.

“I think you should excuse us.” I said, not moved at all when a hurt expression overshadowed his face.

“Storm…” he called, but I shook my head. “Just leave. You can wait by the door if you are so concerned about my safety , but I would prefer that you rather leave the hall with your friends. The burial is over
