Chapter Seventy-Seven: Exchange of Hearts

"Clark, I hope we can forget all the bad things that happened to us seven years ago. I hope we can just concentrate on our work." Kara suggested.

"Of course. I agree that we should focus more on our work." he forced himself to act normally in front of Kara as he said those words.

"Thank you." Kara responded.

And since Kara decided herself that she wants to bring closure to their past, Clark thought that there's no hope for them to be romantically together.

Maybe this is the sign that he should help Gale with his plans to pursue Kara.

"By the way, are you free tomorrow? I am interested in extending Cindy's contract with our company, and maybe we can talk about it over dinner at an Italian restaurant?" Clark is secretly feeling guilty because he is lying straight to Kara's face.

"Really? Wow, Cindy will be really happy! Sure, tomorrow night will be fine." Kara excitedly agreed rightaway.

"Great. I'll call you tomorrow for more details. Thanks for dropping by the office, Kara." Clark sai
