He captured her lower lip with his, softly sucking on it before giving it a teasing bite. Nora opened her mouth in response, allowing him to lazily slip his tongue in. He didn’t pressurize her or dominate. He played around as if it was some sort of game, grazing her tongue lightly here and there and then removing the pressure. His kiss turned from her lips to the corner of her mouth and then slowly down her cheek till the jaw bone, then making it’s way towards her neck. He stopped at the sensitive spot and gave it an intense lick before sucking on it. Nora shivered with pleasure but made no sound. He nipped at the spot with his teeth, grazing it before continuously assaulting it with his tongue.
Nora’s breaths grew shallower and more rapid. It gave away more than what she’d like and for now, Mateo found satisfaction in it even though he wanted to hear more. He wanted to know if she actually liked it. He needed the reassurance.
So he pulled
Chapter 25It was silent and yet peaceful. Mateo slept without smoking excessively and Nora slept without shaking as much as usual. That’s not to say it completely went away. For at least the first half an hour, Mateo couldn’t fall asleep because he felt the constant shaking. Nora had slept but it was as if she wasn’t resting. It was only when Mateo hesitantly wrapped his arms against his waist and pulled her closer that her breathing slowed down slightly. Next he rested his head against her neck and placed a soft kiss before trying to resume his sleep. Slowly the shaking reduced until the images in her brain changed and she could finally sleep in peace. It seemed that somehow the body recognized it’s source of relaxation and encouraged the mind to do the same, changing it’s course of direction. It was a strange feeling for Mateo, one that brought a smile to his lips. He felt certain childish emotions arising within him, ones that he
He got into every nook and cranny, scrubbing with the soap and then washing it with water and then repeating. Once he was satisfied with his hand, deeming it to be clean, he turned off the tap and patted his hands dry on the towel. A spot of blood got on it but it wasn’t superficial. Mateo threw the towel away in the bin and grabbed his gloves, putting them on carefully. The paramedics didn’t come in an ambulance or have any sirens. They came silently, not alerting anyone of their presence. In fact, Mateo himself didn’t know they had arrived until they came blazing down the stairs from the entrance, containing all sorts of equipment. Even though the facility itself had a specialized room containing all necessary equipment for emergency situations, they would always bring some rare discoveries of their own just in case they were needed. As soon as they reach they notice a petite girl lying on the ground, applying pressure to a man’s wound. He was
Marcos’s body tenses up and becomes rigid as he recalls the incident in detail. They had taken all the necessary precautions, it didn’t make sense- whatever had happened. They had used the software to figure out their location and which hotel the drug brokers had gotten into, next they booked the room on the same floor to avoid suspicion by anyone. They moved silently with sleekness of a snake, dodging all CCTV cameras until they reached the hotel, even parking in an obsolete spot that no one uses. What about inside the hotel? They had specific face masks made to look quite different from their original selves. The plan was going perfectly. The new unlock device they had invented barely made any sound as it worked on the electronic card lock of the room. Everything was continuing smoothly just according to the plan and yet..As soon as they entered the room, it was like solar flares from the sun smashed into their eyeballs. They were on fi
“Will he be okay?” Nora asks, a flicker of concern glimmering in her eyes. Mateo turned his head as he looked at her with curiosity. He was wondering why it mattered to her. Marcos was a complete stranger, what did it matter if he lived or died? He always hated fake generosity and it didn’t help that this time he knew that it wasn’t really fake.“Gun shot wounds don’t take that long to heal as long as the stitches stay in. He’ll be alright by next week since no internal organs were damaged.” Nora nods, not really understanding the explanation but getting the part that he would be alright. It was enough for her.Much to her dismay, they had gone back to sleep in their own rooms. Mateo was tempted more than once to go back to join her in her room but he had some thinking to do and knew that doing so would not be possible if she was entangled in his arms. He needed to think. And a part of him had already fi
The next morning, breakfast was more quiet than usual. The expected rustling and bustling had died down and instead there were windy whispers as people gathered to choose their meals and even as they sat at the tables. The whispers never stopped. It wasn't a strange ordeal, it was common for little things to get inflated and spread through the institute.Apparently, there was a rumor of Mateo cackling like a mad man as he broke a few of the king's fingers. It was what the word had gotten out as but.. in reality it was just a few chuckles and the king only had a sprain or two in his fingers. Mateo wasn't bothered in the least. After all, a showdown between the Mafia Prince and the King is no everyday phenomena. It isn't common for them to have much gossip to talk about, so when they get the opportunity, they enjoy the events unfolding before them. Mateo knew though, in an hour or two they would get bored and return to their original selves."You can't
30 The blood slowly trickled down his cheek, giving it a red tint. After reaching his chin, it drops to the ground, covering the glass and making it reflect red light. Seconds passed and Mateo still did not notice the presence of another person. ‘Maybe I should leave.’ Nora thinks to herself as she takes in the scenario unfolding before her. He was clearly not in a good mood and agitating him further seemed like a bad idea. She had come here because she wanted to ask if she could go to the hospital for a while. Even though Nova was still in a coma, she wanted to at least be near her. Maybe somehow being next to her will remind her over and over again that she wasn’t really gone, though of course she wasn’t really prepared to see the lifeless face on a ventilator. Thinking that something was at least better than nothing, she had gathered courage to come here and ask Mateo. She knew that the mafia members weren’t allowed to meet their old family and friends for
Nora had a slight vague idea of what it meant and the thought made her blush furiously which only seemed to incite Mateo further. Nora wasn’t the type to overly express her emotions just like Mateo, so to get some reactions out of her really felt like an accomplishment to him. “Then why did you stop.” She whispered curiously. It was not as if she knew what to do from here on out. She knew she was inexperienced but if Mateo showed her then she would try her best. For some reason, she found herself seeking his approval instead of thinking for herself and if she was ready or not. That was something Mateo had noticed. “Because I need a shower.” He teased, referring to the situation he was put in because of her. He didn’t lie but he also did not tell her the exact answer to her question. He simply evaded it which was something that was not ignored by Nora. “Am I dirty?” She found herself asking but then lightly bit her lip to stop herself from sp
Nora didn’t know where she had gotten such strength from to say these things. A part of her wanted to blame the drowsiness of the cigarettes so she wouldn’t have to take the blame. She thought she was being pathetic and needy when they weren’t even together. He did not owe her anything. He did not owe her comfort or anything to fill in the big gaping hole left in her heart. She was afraid that if it wasn’t for him, the hole would swallow her up until there was nothing left. She would be nothing. While she was in the middle of her thoughts, Mateo placed his hand on her cheek. Though he could not feel it, he knew it would be every bit as soft as he remembered.“Nora..” He began hesitantly. “I don’t think you know me very well. I’m a cruel man.”Nora had no doubt that he was being honest about it but the truth was, she had not witnessed him doing a single thing out of order. Nothing he ha
