58. After-Thoughts

Luca alighted from the Uber which came to stop at the side of the road and the vehicle drove away, leaving him to raise his head to the glass villa before him.

He slides his hands into his pocket and as he got closer, the gates pulled open for him to enter.

He was approaching the entrance door when he heard a 'meow' noise and turned to see his cinnamon-furred cat running towards him from the corner of the building while being chased by a chubby woman who kept screaming, "Sonia!"

She paused abruptly when she noticed his presence, "Mr Antonio"

The cat wriggled its til and moved around Luca's leg while meowing.

Luca forced a smile and took the creature as he went low on, "Hey, Sonia"

She must have picked his scent when he came through the gates.

It's been days since he last saw her.

"You getting a lil bigger" He rubbed her forehead and then turned to the chubby woman behind him.
