Chapter Thirty-Nine Present Day
"Benedetto," A voice I hadn't heard in a long time called out my name.
"Mom?"
The phone hung up, and I was left speechless what just happened? I thought she was dead.
Tatianna looked up at me from the hospital bed.
"What's wrong, love? Who was that?" She asks with worry lines around her eyes.
I look back at her with a fake smile while holding our newborn son. I'm not sure who it is. So I shouldn't worry her with nonsense.
"It was a wrong number," I say as I put away my phone.
She smiles at me and asks to hold our son.
I lay him against her chest and relish in our little family. There's a place in my heart hurting, wishing my Mama could be here to share this moment. There is no way the person that called is my Mama. Her last words echo over and over. "I love you, son." The day I found out she died, I made a promise to revenge her death. Up until this point, I have not made good
Chapter Forty Today Bennie is a week old. Were still in Ohio, but our hotel suite is getting cramped.Tatianna is finally feeling up to house searching. What she doesn't know is that I have beensecretly in contact with a contractor for months. Tatianna is about to have her dream home. I tryto hide my excitement as I look down at my phone. Today is the day our house is finally going to be ready. I can't wait to show Tati, Bella, and Bennie. Given my hi
Chapter Forty-One Finally, the last of the moving boxes are unpacked, and our house in Ohio isstarting to feel like home. I stare out my upstairs office window at the pond below. Theleaves are beginning to fall off the trees, which reminds me of the time around our firstdate. I've been working on recreating it as a surprise for Tati. When the moments right. Bennie is only a month old, so I don't see that anytime soon. Tati won't lea
My phone goes off in the middle of the night, and I turn over to silence it. I then turn over and check on Tati's sleeping form to make sure that it didn't wake her. She's softly snoring curled up in a ball. I check who's texting me this late; it had better be important. My heart drops to the pit of my stomach as I read the message Marco had sent.'I told you, you wouldn't like the truth. I may have found out who is behind the murder of your mom. Call me as soon as you get this.'Quickly, I slip out of bed and sneak to the door. I go into my semi- soundproof office and lock the door. My fingers tremble as I dial Marco's number. I'm so close to my revenge; I can taste it."Boss," I hear Marco say through the phone."Marco, this better be important. Who is behind my mother's murder?" I say with annoyance."I don't have the murderer yet, but I found out that your father had a lot to gain from the death of your mother."My mind is not processing
Chapter Forty-Three Tatianna's POV Axon asked me to wear something nice; he wants to take me somewhere. Honestly, I would rather stay home with the kids and wear my PJs. I don't feel like going anywhere. Axon has been acting so strange lately. He goes into his office for hours at a time, and when I am around him, he hides his phone. My insecurities lead me to think it's another woman, but I don't want to know. I don't think I can bare the truth. Quickly, I wipe away a tear that has fallen before it messes up my makeup. I squeeze into a simple but elegant dress that has quarter sleeves and a cinch up the side. I look into the mirror and turn and try to suck in my pudgy belly. My body still hasn't bounced back from having Bennie, and he is almost seven weeks. I need to contact my trainer, but I don't have the motivation. That's probably it; that's why Axon is acting so strange he no longer finds me attractive. I close my eyes and picture the woman Axon
Chapter Forty-FourI stare at Tati, dumbfounded. Has she lost her mind? There is no other woman. I'm crazy in love with her. I know I shouldn't keep secrets, but I'm not ready to tell Tatianna about my Mama or any of the crazy things I have been dealing with. What would she think of the threatening messages I have been getting lately. She doesn't realize the security I have on us and our kids. I think fast, it's either I let her in on her surprise or worry her."Tati, you are the only woman for me, this I swear. The only thing I have been hiding is a surprise for you."At that very moment, the limo stops outside of the restaurant. I let out a sigh of relief. At least I may get buy with not revealing Tatianna's surprise just yet.Tatianna's shoulders ease like a weight that has been lifted. The driver opens our door, cutting off our conversation."Where are we?" Tatianna asks as she steps out the door.I take her hand in mine as I stare up at the sign th
Chapter Forty-Five We left the restaurant and barely made it to the car before Axon grabbed hold of me and kissed me with such passion, it took my breath away. I kissed him back with equal measure. The driver raises the glass partition so that Axon and I can have more privacy. I move closer to him and climb up on his lap. My dress hikes up my leg, leaving my black lace panties exposed. Axon's hand grasps my behind while his other hand caresses my breast. My eyes close as I moan in ecstasy. Six weeks without him feels like a lifetime. I nibble on his lip as he pushes his pelvis into me. My hips move with the motion of the car. Axon takes his hands and grabs hold of my thong ripping it entirely off me, leaving me exposed. He then unbuttons and unzips his pants and his large veiny cock springs to life. I gasp as he is inside of me in one swift motion.
Chapter Forty-Six Axons POV We rode back home in comfortable silence; I couldn't ask for a better night. Tatianna's head is on my shoulder, and I'm currently going through some files that Marco had sent me. He is the best hacker I know, yet he can't figure out who sent that text or who killed my Mama. Maybe I can find something in these files. I've been preoccupying my time with Tatianna and her surprise. But now it's time I get back to what I've set out to do, and that is to find my mother's killer and to have my revenge. I scan a paper; it's mom's original will. The property list goes on for miles. The wording of the document throws me off. In the event of mine and my husband Giovanni Amato's passing, my properties and
Chapter Forty-Seven We rush around the house to finish packing. Clothing is strung from one side of our room to the other. Tatianna already has like five huge bags packed. You would think that she's planning to stay months instead of a few weeks. While she is finishing backing Bennie's and Bella's things, I make a few phone calls to get the jet ready and ring for a private car. The one thing I am most thankful for is not having to fly commercial airlines with kids. I look around the home one last time to make sure nothing is forgotten before joining Tati and the kids in the car. As luck would have it, the private airstrip is only minutes from our house. We arrive at the airstrip and load up on the private jet. Bella looks around excitedly. She has done this every tim
