107: Bloody Surprise

Despite my impatience, I was willing to wait for this hunt. Minutes ticked by—five, then ten—without any signs of movement. And then, a sudden snap of a twig shattered the silence. Reacting swiftly, I shifted onto one knee, aligning my sight with the cabin.

It didn't surprise me that the lone assailant had cautiously made his way forward, staying hidden within the forest for as long as possible. As soon as he emerged from the trees, I took aim. Just as I was about to pull the trigger on my Glock, a second shot rang out from inside the house, followed by a loud crash. A primal growl surged up within me, expelling the air from my lungs. I threw my head back and let out a roar, sprinting towards the front of the house.

Within a split second, the single bullet found its mark between the attacker's eyes, instantly ending his life. I swiftly swooped down, grabbing his assault rifle before kicking open the front door. Inside, Dante was engaged in a fierce struggle with the second assailant.
