BOOK 3—PROLOGUE

PROLOGUE

I don't know where I am. All I can see is nothing but darkness. I lost count of the days I spent in this room I am staying in. I'm so hungry—starving even. I couldn't even remember when was the last time I ate, or remember why I was here in the very first place.

To be honest, I don't know. I just woke up one day and realized I was in total darkness. How did I end up here? That's also a huge question for me. I can't remember anything before this. It was as if the world had plunged into an abyss, and I was left floating in an endless void.

Did I get kidnapped or something? Was I taken? The last thing I remembered was sleeping in my room after the last shift of my part-time job in the convenience store a block away from the apartment I was staying at.

After that, none. I can't remember anything.

Did I... die? But that's not possible because I can feel my whole body. I am even starving. I am not dead yet, but barely living.
