I had walked away from him, left Ashton standing on the dance floor, and ran to the bar.

I was looking around the club but it was as if he had emerged himself in the shadows.

’Just because you can’t see me, doesn’t mean I’m not watching’

Those words. They gave me life in the span of a few seconds and then killed me softly right after.

He had watched me, but not shown himself. Because he couldn’t. Because he’s marrying another, to save my life. If he hadn’t married her already.

The thought caused bile to rise in my throat and I quickly took a sip from my drink, washing it down.

I needed to be rid of him. I needed to let go and not get drawn to his warmth. But it was difficult, near impossible not to go looking for him.
