Hazel’s POV

The week went by quickly and with each passing day I miss my best friend. She hadn’t called back and I was starting to get worried.

I couldn’t help all the thoughts that crossed my mind especially after calling her and it kept going straight to voicemail.

Alesha is never like this? What’s going on?

Taking out my phone, I called her one more time but I got sent to voicemail again like every other time that I’d tried to call her.

“It’s only been a week, give her some time to settle and I’m sure that she’ll call you back as soon as she can.” Lucas’ voice jolted me out of my thoughts.

I had no idea when he got behind me and that made me jump, clutching my chest in fear. I turned to look at him and he was smiling.

“You scared me.” I laughed nervously and he only brushed my cheek before telling me to calm down that everything was going to be fine.
