Chapter 2

Damian’s POV

“Don’t shoot! Don’t fucking shoot!” I yelled, the room was foggy from the teargas they’d released and I could barely see. My house was under attack from the rival gang and they’d met her inside the house.

She was pregnant and my life flashed right in front of my eyes when I heard the sound of gunshot followed by the revving sound of vehicles driving off.

“No, no,” I crawled to her side and there she was, covered in her own pool of blood, she was laying there cold and my blood dried as I stared at her.

My world stood completely still. Nothing moved. Not even the sound of the receding car and the footsteps of the man that had just pulled the trigger made a sound as they all left my compound. Colors faded as I felt my chest tighten in pain, anger and my blood boiled with revenge.

A cold, shivering wind blew on the back of my neck and ears like the touch of cold fingers. Suddenly, my whole world seemed unnaturally dark like all the lights went out when Mia breathed her last breath in my embrace.

I took the gun on the ground as I’d wanted to follow them but I was stopped when I felt a pull on my wrist as Isaac pulled me back.

“No, No. Stop, you can’t blindly go after them,” Isaac said and my eyes widen, I knew he was right, “The Godfather agreed to this and it would be bad if you just go to meet him blindly.” He finished and I broke down.

He was right, the hatred I had for my father grew even stronger at the thought of him, I wanted to kill him and make sure he doesn’t see the light of day. This was supposed to be a punishment for not doing what he’d asked me.

“Let’s do something, we must save her!” I screamed, the adrenaline rushing through my body caused me to be hyper.

“I’m sorry, Mr Damian. There’s nothing we can do, she’s gone.” Isaac said and I refused to believe it.

“Mia, Mia.” I called even though I knew she couldn’t hear me.

————

“Mia.” I kept whispering until my hand hit something, I opened my eyes to find a naked girl just beside me and that was when it dawned on me that I’d been dreaming.

It was the most horrible memory, one I dreaded and tried my best never to remember, I sighed when I looked at my bedside clock and realized it was almost 10am.

“Get out of here before I finish my bath.” I ordered and she scampered out of my room even before I could get to the bathroom.

The fear I instilled in my girls and the way they trembled when they see me was one that was thrilling.

I made my way to the bathroom, taking one of the pills I kept specifically for my headaches as I tried my best to prepare for the day.

I had a building to buy, a traitor to torture and I also had someone to meet, I took out my suit as I decided to set out for the day.

I made a mental note as I approached the building, noticing every little detail and taking notes of them, the building was nice but not as nice as I’d pictured it to be but was manageable and up to my standard.

“What do you think?” I asked Isaac who nodded a little bit before answering.

“we could buy it.” He answered and I’d ordered for him to go inside and meet the owner.

I lit my cigarette as I waited for Isaac to go make the enquiries that needed to be made. “Fuck it.” I muttered as I walked to join Isaac, I needed to be there since I’d be the one sealing the deal.

I reached for the door and just before I could open it, it swung open and someone came crashing into me.

Losing my balance for a bit, I stumbled backward. But once I was stable again I weighed the feminine figure with my eyes. She had felt the impact as well but she was good at hiding as she completely ignored me and dried her face with her palm.

It looked as though she was crying.

She was no doubt beautiful, stunning that every man would want a second look, she just wasn’t up to the beauty standard I set for my women but she also wasn’t ordinary.

“So...” she muttered until she met my gaze and my eyes widened, she was the girl from my club last night.

“You.” I smirked as I braced myself up and put both my hands in my pocket.

“What are you doing here?” She groaned as she tried to walk past me, hitting me again but I pulled her back, stopping her from getting away with it like she had at the club.

“Do you just go around groping women because you think they’re weak?” She blurted out as she moved in my grip and as much as I wanted to let her go, my grip only tightened as she let out a slight painful wince.

I released her and I could hear her heave a sigh of relief.

“Really looks like you have a knack for bumping into people and walking past them like it’s nothing.” I smirked.

“Well, if you were focused on where you were going then you wouldn’t have bumped into me you entitled son of a b—“

“You complete that statement and I’ll make sure you regret it.” I threatened, it wasn’t really a threat, it was a warning as no one dared call Damian Gray a son of a bitch.

“What would you do then, Mr cold and dangerous? I wonder how rich people think, y’all feel like you can just treat anyone however way you like and get away with it? Well, not now you fucking son of a bitch!” She yelled, completing the statement I’d earlier threatened her to stop.

Whatever happened back in there was horrible and it was taking a toll on her.

“You’re calling me a son of a bitch when right now the only person being bitchy is you—“ I hadn’t completed my statement when I felt a resounding slap on my face.

She dared slap me? I was about to say something as my hand traced my cheek, it stung and whatever I wanted to say got caught up in my throat as she only walked past me.

“Mr Damian Gray.” I heard a male voice call and I looked to see Isaac walk out with the owner of the company I’d wanted to buy.

We sealed the deal outside the building but I couldn’t stop myself from thinking about her, I needed to make her regret it.

“Isaac,” I called and he walked to my side as I whispered in his ear still staring at the girl in the car before she drove off and Isaac nodded, understanding me.

“Ask everyone to evacuate as soon as possible since we would be refurnishing everything about this place.” I finished as I made my way inside the car with my blood boiling.

“Take me to the house.” I ordered and the driver immediately understood what I meant.

I walked inside the house to find the traitor I needed to tend to tied up and already beaten up, the sight of his bloodied body gave me a sense of satisfaction but I still needed to let some things off.

“What were you thinking disclosing the location of the goods to them?” I asked as I chopped one of his fingers off and his painful scream echoed in the building, causing me to let out a satisfactory smirk.

I tried as hard as I could to get the thought of her out of my head but nothing worked as her image kept popping up again in my head.
