Chapter nine

She stared at the unconscious Daniel in shock before proceeding to shake him, “Daniel, Daniel “ she called as she rolled him over her so she could get up. She winced in pain as she held on to her stomach, the stitches from the surgery were bound to have come off after the day’s activities. She looked at her clothes, they were bloodstained and when she put her hand beneath his head, she saw blood and gasped, he’d been injured on the beads. She gasped before shaking him.

“Wake up Daniel, wake up” she told him as she tried giving him chest compressions but they weren’t helping.

“If he doesn’t wake up, it means I’ve failed” she said to herself before putting her hand on her forehead.. she couldn’t fail, there was no way she could fail.

She’d failed once as an assassin, she couldn’t fail now as a guard. She managed to get him on her back despite how weak she was as she used the shaky walls for support while many parts of the building came crashing down as she walked out of the building.
