35: Pretty little thing

Maksim frowned at the list on his monitor. He didn’t pick a name yesterday, and today, he wasn’t any closer to penetrating Viktor’s lair. The only positive from today and yesterday was Camilla’s presence. He was waiting for her to fix a sex timetable. Fucking her was a necessity, as part of their agreement, not because he liked the way her fingertips felt on his skin. Not because he liked the way she stared in awe at his scars or how she termed him brave.

Right now, he had to focus. His new club would open soon. He would need to assign a new bodyguard to Camilla because he might spend fewer nights at home. Doris already informed him his wife loved to read. His housekeeper also mentioned something about a shelf. He told himself then not to ask more questions about that. Camilla wouldn’t be here long. There was no need making permanent fixtures for her.

But what if a shelf or shelves would get his pretty wife to smile at him the way she did
