98 Friendship and Tolerance

“Hi Cindy.” I answered gently but even I could hear the stiffness in my tone. And I knew Cindy would misconstrue it.

“Still angry at the last time, hmm? You sure can hold a grudge, girl.” She said with hurtful tones and I rolled my eyes to the ceiling. Trust her to take it farther.

“Is that why you are calling? To tell me about my grudges and feelings?” I questioned a little bit irritatingly, hurt because she seemed not to have any plans about apologising.

“No, Becca. I called you because I missed you and I am hoping we can see.” She retorted a little loudly and I could hear the tone of impatience underneath her words.

“You mean after annoying the hell out of me, you finally have the time to talk to me?” I corrected bitchily, forgetting the fact that it was I who refused to speak to her in the first place.

“That was because I had been sick, Becca. It was just yesterday that I got discharged from the hospital.” She retorted softly and I felt sure I did not hear correctly.
