Chapter 24: Where Can I Hide? Maisie's POV: Well, that was a big mistake. I was in a whole lot of pain and there was nothing I could do about it. I started to rub both of my knees as they were in a lot of pain. I did not realize it was that far to reach the floor. Well, that was on top of the fact that I found out I could not stand up on my own two feet. I needed to get away as quickly as I could. I looked at the wire coming from my arm and followed it to a small box. I also noticed another wire coming from something covering my face. I pulled on it and it came off fairly easy. It only covered part of my face. It was strange in color when I held it in my hands. It had strings hanging from it and even had air that came out of the hose that went over my nose. What was this for?! I dropped it as I looked at what the wired box was sitting on. There was a metal pole going all the way through the strange box. When I followed the metal pole back to the floor, I noticed there were several r
Chapter 25: No Place To Hide! Maisie's POV: In my room at home, I only had a simple sheet on my pad of a bed to cover myself up with at night. It was old and had a lot of holes in it. At night, it got really cold, but it was what I knew was mine as no one else wanted it. I was not allowed to have anything nice, no matter what it was. Even though I was sad most of the time, I still had a sheet to cover up with and a thin, plain pad to sleep on. Then during the day, I only had to worry about one outfit to leave my room to do my chores in. When the day was over, I would wash in the river if I got dirty and then do it again the next day, over and over again. That was my life, plain and simple. When I heard a notice, I leaned over just a bit so I could get a look under the hanging blanket. I noticed there was a set of feet right on the other side. I placed my hand over my mouth so I didn't make a sound as I sat up once more, waiting on them to leave and not come back. I felt better when
Chapter 26: The Tour Shall ContinueSentinel Trevor's POV:I was pleased with the reactions from our newcomers so far on this wondrous tour. However, I did wonder how they would take to their injection from the syringe gun which held the special capsule they would soon be injected with. It was a pretty impressive moment actually. The sound of it, when the capsule entered the skin, was nothing like any other regular ole' bolt gun. I looked over at one of the Sentinels standing by Mr. Stocky. They took that as their cue to maneuver his shirt down. It was obvious as he didn't want this to happen. I knew that as he tried to struggle against his restraints, but it was no use. They held him from five different points which made his struggle pointless. I even smirked as I chuckled when he did that."Why do I have to go first?" He scoffed as he asked, continuing to struggle, which was obviously no use."Well, I appreciate the question, however,..." I said with a bit of a pause. "Usually I woul
Chapter 27: Next Stop, Your Accommodations Sentinel Trevor's POV:So escape from this place was also least likely to ever happen, especially here. On account of the cleanliness here, this was a proper place. One that is kept clean and trash is not thrown on the ground. We have manners here and are respectful of that fact. We all have to live here together after all. Finally, she seemed to calm down from her apparent coughing spell and they both remained quiet. I looked over at the Sentinels who were now standing on each side of our newcomers.I then walked over to the button placed on the floor and again, stepped on it once more. That caused the tension in the straps to relax just a bit to where one Sentinel could go and unlatch the buckle that held them both in place while the other one moved the other straps. When all the straps were back in their proper positions, the Sentinels grabbed each newcomer by each arm and helped them to their feet."Shall we continue on our tour?" I asked
Chapter 28: Where Is She Hiding?Alpha King Caspian's POV:What exactly would I be able to get her to eat? It really made me wonder what she previously had to eat, considering her frail condition and how skinny she was. It made me wonder if she was able to eat anything other than just scraps left behind by other pack members. I had no telling if she could even eat at all. I thought about it for a moment as I walked down the hall toward the Aid Station. I waited for one of the Aides to finish reading what they had written before they were able to look up at me. I figured they were trying to write down something important as to the fact that she did notice my arrival but continued to write anyway. When I thought about how she was awake, I wanted to allow her to eat something rather important, considering this would be the first meal I would be presenting her with. That considering she is no longer in the dreadful environment she came from. I wondered if she ever ate anything like muffins
Chapter 29: When Can I Take Her Home?Alpha King Caspian's POV:This is more frustrating than I had originally thought it was going to be. She kept pulling away from me at every turn. I guess I could try to do it a bit more slowly, to see if that yields a better result. So, once again, I reached out to her. And, yet again, she tried to pull away from me. This was clearly not working as I hoped it would. I needed her to stay still so I could pick her up and put her back in bed to allow her to get some rest and heal herself before it was time to walk. During all of this, she still has not tried to speak to me yet, and the only thing I managed to hear her make any sound was when she attempted to whimper out of fear when she tried to pull back away from me."Baby, stop moving away from me, I am not going to hurt you," I said in a bit of a more stern voice at that moment. "I am going to pick you up and place you back on the bed now, alright?"This time when I reached forward toward her, she
Chapter 30: We Are Leaving, Today! Alpha King Caspian's POV: I looked forward to being able to take our Mate home today. That way, she can get some much-needed rest and not have to worry about random people coming and going as they, well, please. That is, as the doctor and Aides usually do in the Imperial Clinic. However, I did not want our Mate to be scared during the time she will require to completely heal from this whole ordeal. It might cause complications in her healing, causing it to take longer for her to get better. At home, I knew who would be the one coming and going from our room, and that one person would be me and me alone. I was very well capable of tending to her all on my own. All I need to do now was to take her out of this place so we could go home to where she really belonged and would be safe. And at that, feel safe and not scared of who might walk in at any time. "Well, Your Highness," the doctor stammered with her words at first, as she was not expecting to h
Chapter 31: She Does Not Understand Alpha King Caspian's POV: The question now is, if she understands what is about to happen to her. Does she really know what a real home is, or is it just a place that she once stayed? There were several questions roaming through my mind, but I needed to know what she knew about all this first. That way, I'd have an idea of where to start. "Do you understand where home is?" I asked her to see if I would get the same reaction and she looked back at me as she nodded. It was at that moment that I happened to notice a tear starting to roll down her cheek when she looked away from me again. I knew she was thinking I was going to take her back to that awful place. "No baby girl," I said calmly at first. "I do not think you and I are thinking about the same place. You are not going back to the place you came from. That is not your home. That may have been a place where you lived, but that is not your home anymore. You have a new home now. You are going
