*Fernanda's POV*

The tunnel air hung heavy with the scent of dust and stale memories. As I descended, the dim light flickering from overhead bulbs cast eerie shadows on the damp walls. My footsteps echoed in the silence, a stark contrast to the lively farewell I had just bid to Sergio.

Navigating through the tunnel, I couldn't help but notice the musty smell invading my senses, mixed with the unsettling touch of unseen cobwebs. It was as if the air itself clung to the past, reluctant to let go. I quickened my pace, eager to escape the oppressive atmosphere.

Soon, I caught up with Kate and the others who had forged ahead while I was still wrapped in the embrace of goodbyes. I reached out, finding solace in the warmth of Kate's hand. "This place freaks me out," I admitted, my voice echoing off the tunnel walls.

Kate's fingers intertwined with mine, and she emitted a soft giggle that resonated in the dimly lit passage. "Don't worry, Fernanda," she reassured, her voice a soothing melody. "
