Ayden knew he was failing as a future father by not providing the support Arya needed. He was failing as a son by lying to his father, hiding the truth about his relationship with Arya. As a brother, he was denying Mark the opportunity to redeem himself. And with himself, he had failed by not keeping every promise he had made to himself.

During the night, Arya's mother had worsened. Her heart condition, combined with the cancer spreading throughout her body, was causing her health to deteriorate rapidly.

"Mr. Emory, it's best to talk to the doctor," the nurse informs him. "She's not doing well... I don't think she'll make it another day."

Ayden enters Mirella's bedroom and notices she is struggling to breathe even with oxygen on.

"Call them immediately," he nervously asks Sebas, who is standing next to him. "And have Arya's gynecologist come."

"Yes, sir," he informs him, taking the phone and calling Mirella and Arya's regular doctors.

Within half an hour, everyone was there. Once Arya
