Chapter XL: The Scholar

Anastasia tried to adjust her sight on her surroundings.

Where I am? She asked to herself.

Then she remember what happened to the library, to the scholar, the gun, the prince and then...

"Alistair? Alistair are you here?" She asked while searching left and right. Her voice just echoes around the place but there's no response to be heard. "Alistair!" She tries again, shouting his name this time, and when there's still no response, she's about to start panicking when someone tap her back.

"I-im here." Someone said from behind.

She turned around and saw the prince, his hands and feet are tied together with a chain. Then she's about to move closer to him when she notice that she was indeed– also tied with a chain. The chains was refraining her to do any movements.

"Alistair." She called again. "Thank god you're fine." She said in relief.

"I can say the same." He said in a smile and relief.

They both stared at each other until Anastasia suddenly bursts into tears.

"I-im sorry..." She said
