She moved away abruptly and looked at him with a blank expression on her face. " Who do you think you are, Ronan? You ignore me for two weeks," she paused catching her breath, "two weeks and all of a sudden I'm all yours? What exactly do you think of me? Some item on display? Some kind of an object that you can have whenever you want and throw away whenever you don't?" She asked out of breath.
Anya and the girls entered the main hall after two hours of rigorous application of make-up. Emily was wearing a black strapless gown that went up to her feet and had a beautiful golden lace bordering her hip. Jess went modern with a single slip dazzling red dress that went up to a little above her knee. Tash wore a greyish white sleeveless dress that enhanced her curves with a black coat that rose upto her chest. Viola looked like one of the princess from the disney movies as she wore a Violet coloured long gown with Velvet roses aligning her neckline. It was a gift from David as he said that he wanted to see her in it.Anya spent too much time th
A few moments later, Anya saw them walking in her direction. She instantly averted her gaze from them and appeared to look as if she was busy talking with the girls. She didn't want him to know that she was spying on them all along. When they reached the girls, Ronan introduced the woman next to him."Girls, I'd like you to meet our very dear friend, Natalie." He said as he looked at Anya and her mind stopped at the word dear friend. She wasn't even sure if she heard the name properly. Natalie shook hands with all the girls and as she approached Anya she stopped and stared as if she'd seen an alien from another planet.
She swiftly moved away as he tried to grab her. "Fine! I'll come but tell me where to first!" She hissed."To your room of course. We can't have a beautiful drunk woman wandering off in a party like this now, can we?" He asked in the same serious tone. She laughed tremulously. "Beautiful, huh?"
"Yeah, more like trying to kill you, don't you think?" Emily narrowed her eyes at him as Ronan realised Anya had her grip on his throat. He pushed her hands off while Anya got up from him and stumbled out of the bed."No, Em. I wasn't trying to kill him." She struggled to say as she gathered the pleats of her saree and ran towards her friends."Oh, Ann!" Emily cried out holding her friend behind defensively as Ronan approached them.
She still didn't believe him but there was something that made her hesitate and he either sensed it or he was just plain eager because the next minute she heard him call Emily."She is refusing to believe anything I tell her about last night. Why don't you tell her, Em? Maybe she'll believe you." He said in a serious tone looking between the two of them.Anya looked at her friend optimistically but Emily looked at Viola and gulped. "Emily? Is it true?" She raised her voice sensing something suspicious.
The rest of the gang was already in the living room and it looked as if they were starting the game without her while Anya stood clueless to whatever was going on. She was late and her friends were busy discussing the rules with their respective partners that they didn't notice her arrival or the fact that she was missing earlier.Great! So much for friend sticking together no matter what. And then it struck her. Where was her lovely partner? She scanned the room but he was nowhere to be found. Maybe he was still busy chatting with Natalie or maybe he went searching for
Anya didn't see him or the other guys at lunch. She later learned that they were driving up to the city for a fitting rehearsal of their dresses. Anya and the girls too were leaving for the same after lunch. Anya tried desperately hard not to make eye contact with Ronan after the game but the harder she tried the more she wanted to look at him, to see if he was looking at her or to get some sort of clue from his facial expressions inorder to find out if he was feeling the same way that she was feeling but he seemed to be enjoying the game as if nothing had happened and this bothered her. Why it did was something she tried not to dwell upon but strangely it tugged at her heart too much. The dr
She stopped when she spotted a small brook at the corner of her eye. She looked back and realised she must have been running for long since she didn't recognise the environment. She sighed and decided to walk along the path that led to the brook. It was breathtakingly beautiful as small plants with tiny colourful flowers ran along both sides of the flowing water. The sound of the water along with the blowing wind soothed her mind. She decided to sit on one of the grass and slowly immersed her bare foot into the water after removing her sandals. The gush of coldness from the water calmed her legs that pained from all the running. She took deep breaths and enjoyed the solidarity when memories f
