As I helped Jax to his feet, he winced in pain. "Thanks, Andrea," he muttered, his eyes locked on the ground.

I nodded in response, feeling a mix of emotions. On one hand, I was relieved that he was going to be okay. But on the other hand, I couldn't help but feel angry at him for putting himself in this situation.

Days turned into weeks, and Jax's condition slowly began to improve. He was still weak and vulnerable, but he was no longer in danger of dying. As I tended to him, I couldn't help but notice how different he was from the Jax I had known before. He was no longer the arrogant and selfish alpha I had once known. Instead, he was humble and grateful for my help.
