Cold water burned a trail down my back making me shiver, but what was supposed to be an uncomfortable feeling, made me feel alive. The cold water washed away the tears before they had the chance to ingrain themselves in my skin. These were the parts I hid from the world. To everyone, it was over. The men responsible for snatching Jasper away from us had received their punishment and life went on without them, but to me, even the momentary satisfaction of seeing them writhe in pain before they died didn’t make up for the loss.
