88: Urge to kill

Kayla's POV

Immediately after Hector's speech, everyone was leaving the arena one by one. Some left quickly, others left reluctantly because the mood in the courtroom was destroyed by Max's speech. Hector could barely even say anything, not that I listened anyway. I was just worried about Sapphire who broke down when Max left. I've been consoling her but she refused to be consoled.

If anyone told me that Sapphire would ever love Max I wouldn't believe it. I always thought she hated him, but hearing the things Max said, I knew two things, the people were wrong and so was Max. Honestly, how could he expect to be loved after killing a kid like yourself? Although I almost did the same thing to April, I could've killed her that day but I got lucky. Maybe I shouldn't judge Max, I have no idea how it felt to be blamed for something that he had no idea in. The boy in question is dead and so is his mother. The moment Max apologized to the mother who was dead, I felt so down.
