Chapter 17: Charm Bracelet

Su Lan glared at the pink crystal charm bracelet to a point the store owner thought she had some problems. The store manager gulped and stepped back 3 steps. Su Lan turned and looked at the store manager. The store manager tripped and fell on his bottom.

Su Lan realized what type of expression she was making and quickly changed her expression back to her expressionless face.

She didn't realize the store manager got even more frightened thinking how the girl who just entered was going to silence him. She looked at him like he was a dead person. First, she enters like someone owes her a million dollars and then turns to give an icy death glare.

Su Lan finally spoke when she saw the store manager on the ground dripping in sweat.

Su Lan (in her mind): This person doesn't have some type of illness right?

Store manager (in his mind): Ahhhh! She's going to kill me!!! Look at her icy look with cold air freezing the store!!! Why???!!!! I didn't do anything bad....yet!!! Did she know I was going to increase the price because I saw her clothing material???!!! No, I haven't done it yet!!! Oh god of light, god everywhere please help!!! Crying without tears.

Su Lan didn't realize how similar her reaction was with her father, Lui Shan, when he faced the King and co-workers.

Su Lan: "How much is this charm bracelet?"

Store manager who is already scared out of wits: "Free!! Yes, free! Please feel free to take it!"

Su Lan stared at the manager and wondered if he had some problems. Store owner, do you know that your employee is giving away your money to others?

Store manager starts to tremble (in his mind): No!!!! Why???!!! Why is her death stare becoming more intense???!!! I already said the item was for free!!! Is it not enough?!

Store manager: "Please feel free to take what you want!! I..I..we are having a promotion today!!! You are the sel..selected person for the prize to..to..today!"

Su Lan (in her mind): Is this person sick? Why is he sweating buckets and stuttering like that?

Su Lan looked around the store and saw a cherry blossom hairpin that she liked. Then she turned around and saw another men's style sword shaped necklace that matched her father. Walking a bit further she saw a simple but elegant bookmark that her brother might like. She wasn’t sure if he really liked it because of her blurry memory of him. In the end, Su Lan decided that her brother loved anything given by her. 

Every time Su Lan picked something up the store manager's eyes widened, mouth trembled, and face turned pale.

Su Lan didn't notice it but she felt his stare at her back. But what Su Lan didn't realize was that every piece she picked up was the store's main showcase pieces. If she took it for free the manager would not only be fired.

When Su Lan turned around she saw the manager was still on the ground and wrinkled her brows. She walked up to the manager and held her hand out towards him. The manager, as if petrified on the spot, just glared at her hand as if he was about to be beaten up.

Confused, Su Lan took her hand back. Seeing the hand gone from his view the manager breathed out in relief. When Su Lan saw his reaction she frowned. Was she that scary? Why was he reacting like that? After the manager stood up on his shaking legs, Su Lan asked the manager for the total price of the items. The manager kept stuttering and saying free with a face that looked like he was about to cry. In the end, Su Lan paid for the 3 items and got the charm bracelet for free. Before she left she bought a pair of magic stone cufflinks for Shun. 

Su Lan walked to a nearby restaurant and sat down in a corner near a window. After she sat down she felt many people looking at her. When she turned to look, some people turned their faces back to their food and some were still staring at her. Su Lan frowned and wrinkle her brows together. She picked up the menu and started ordering the food she wanted to try. Su Lan was confused and not sure what she should do from now on. Her life here is very peaceful of course it would be even better if the system and her great (50x) grandfather didn't dig pits for her. As she waited for her food, she took out the bracelet and opened her system screen.

Su Lan stared at the screen wanting to slap it down as she wished it had a physical form.  What did they mean by pending can this ....xxxx..... system just be straightforward!

Su Lan asked the system in her mind: How do you use the charm bracelet? What functions does it have?

Su Lan was beginning to become numb from all these wacko answers... no... that wasn't even an answer!!!!

She decided to finish eating first. Nothing a good meal can't fix. Who would have thought not everything can go the way she wanted. In fact, nothing has gone the way she wanted ever since she came here. A greasy plump guy walked up to her table with 5 guards behind him and directly sat down next to her.

Su Lan (in her mind): Why does this feel like those plots where the main character is eating and suddenly someone comes and tries to hook up or try to take their table only to get pounded down. Instant KO. Should she give it a try? If food can’t help her mood then she feels that doing some physical exercise could. Afterall who can refuse a punching bag who walks up to you when you are in a bad mood.

As she was expecting those words and getting ready to fight a person called out to the greasy man name from behind. Su Lan and the man both turned around and saw.....
