Mitsuhide was groggy when his eyes opened, and for a minute, he wondered where he was. He was still getting used to living in her house as well. Though it had been two months of him always there, he still had some mornings where he was confused when he opened his eyes.The morning sun was in the window, and Kit was standing before it as she talked softly to the bundle in her arms. “You know I never expected this. I never thought I would have two wonderfully perfect babies in my life. I didn’t know everything would feel like this. You two are simply everything I ever wanted; it is a little overwhelming.”

A week went by, and the pair of adults knew they were on the right path with their sons. They had fallen into a basic routine that allowed both of them to get some rest during the day as the twins transitioned to sleeping at night. As expected, Cindy did not take the deal that was offered. She said she thought a jury would understand her plight with everything in her life and why she had to do what she did. Kit was beyond angry about the whole thing, knowing they would all be dragged through a trail and have to relive everything again. Now they had, even more, to deal with, with the upcoming trial. The prosecution already had everything ready because of the trail before. It was all going to happen quickly, and then they hoped things could calm down for all the families involved.Kit and Mitsuhide were both going to be called as witnesses. She looked around the room they would be in most of the day and saw that a few of the other families were there along with the young infants with them. It seemed no one was going to take a chance with the welfare of the babies in question. Six half-siblings that were born a week apart and most of them on the same day. This was the end result of the actions taken by one delusional woman. Kit had to sit down as she looked around and saw them all in one place except for theirs who were at home being guarded by an entire team of special forces.“Where are your two?” One woman asked. Kit remembered her from the care facility as being the sister of one of the women. She held the baby girl close to her.

Mitsuhide was called up to the stand first. He had to go over the things that he saw firsthand on his sister’s condition in the facility. They were trying to make it seem like he was crazy for noticing things. As the records were doctored at some point and everyone knew that by now, they had the proof but wanted to give the human element to the case. “That was perfect.” The DA said to her as they walked back to the room where the witnesses were being held. She had almost forgot about the things that went on before she took the stand. She was riding a high of knowing that she probably sealed the deal on Cindy’s conviction with her testimony. She was smiling when she entered the room. It was beyond a smile, though. It was that she was beaming in a way. She knew after that Cindy would be put away for the longest possible time. All because her lawyer brought it up.“That is a nice look,” Mitsuhide said as he looked at his wife who was smiling with the happiest smile, he had seen her with, probably ever. “What is for?”

As Kit looked out into the backyard, she could see the pieces of trash thrown everywhere that was coated in the slimy concoction that looked like congealed blood. It was something that could inspire horror movies from the looks of it. She understood why Mitsuhide didn’t want her to see it or the other guys in the house as well. She knew they would downplay anything just to keep her calm. She almost smiled at that. She knew they all were trying. Things were looking like that other shoe was falling right now. Kit knew for the rest of the week she was going to hear from her family in the vicious cycle that they loved to run rampant with. Kirsten’s arrest and the charges that were pending that involved Kit were on the forefront of everyone’s minds. However, it was the fact that she was also being charged with conspiracy along with her mother on some, if not all, of the same charges. They got everything ready to go to the courthouse for the day. She knew taking them would set her family off, and she didn’t care. She wanted Cindy to see that the babies were hers now, and there was nothing anyone could do about it. Mitsuhide also knew why Kit wanted this, and though he didn’t like the idea of using the babies, he would go along with it because everything she had done for him in the past, she never wanted anything in return. However, this one thing she wanted to do. He thought to himself if this helps her, in the end, it could not hurt.
